Smoking is a bad habit and it is not good for you. It can cause so many problems with your health that it's not funny. Millions of people die from this every year and yet we still smoke. Not only does it affect your insides but it also affects the outside of your body. Thousands of young adults start smoking everyday because they think it is cool, because everyone is doing it, or because of pure pressure. Did you know that it only takes one cigarette to become addicted? It is true; if you don't believe this ask someone and they will tell you that it's true. Did you also know that it can cause birth effects like premature birth and low birth weight? If you try to quit cold turkey when you are pregnant, you can give your baby nerve damage. So you have to quit slowly so this will not happen to your baby.
Smoking makes you age faster than normal. It gives you wrinkles, makes you look older, and in time, it gets worse. It stains your teeth yellow and damages your taste buds. The yellow color of your teeth makes them look nasty. Your body will smell like a cigarette or an ashtray, and the smell will be in your hair and on your skin. It gives you bad breath, your clothes will smell, and so will your house and everything in your home as well. People can smell it when they walk into your house and the odor of the smoke will be in the air. It causes cancers like mouth cancer, throat cancer, lungs cancer, and it can cause cancers in other parts of your body that can slow down your body functions or it can shut them down as well. It can make you cough, wheeze, cough up blood, cause breathing problems like shortness in breath, and so many other thing that can or will harm your health.
You really need to think about what you are doing and why you are doing it because you really should quit that nasty habit before it messes up your life. Think of your family and how it affects them to be around it. Smoking is not the solution to your stress or anything else for that fact because you don't need it. If you do not smoke, don't start. Keep a strong head on your shoulders and don't let people steer you into doing it. Just tell them no and walk away. They will understand and later they will wish they had never started smoking.
