Following are 14 components you need in a sales letters, sales letter component #1: The headline is at the top of the sales letter. The only purpose of the headline is to grab the reader's attention.

sales letter component #2: A subhead that is right underneath headline. The sub head supports the headline and gives the prospects a reason to continue reading.

Sales letter component #3: Use a salutation that addresses the people you want to talk to. It doesn't just have to be "Dear Friend".

Sales letter component #4: Opening paragraph. I get straight to the point and let the customers know what is in it for them. You have to go from the customer's point view and why they will benefit from the product. Make sure to also state why you created the product in the first place. What problem were you trying to solve? What issues did you come across that you know your customer would face too?

Sales letter component #5: The body should provide credibility, testimonials, and bulleted information. You should have 5 to 8 bullets that are benefit driven. The bullets should tell the customers why they need to take action.

Sales letter component #6: Have a free bonus to entice the customer to buy.

Sales letter component #7: Provide your money back guarantee. You must have this guarantee because it will take away all the customer's worries. It will also increase sales.

Sales letter component #8: State the price of the product. Restate the benefits and what they will receive. Then state the payment terms.

Sales letter component #9: Tell them to take action and what exact steps they need to do to purchase your product.

Sales letter component #10: Put a warning on your sales letter that warns them of what might happen if they don't take action now. Tell them what they will be missing out on. Show them that they will lose out on a good deal, great product, and great price.

Sales letter component #11: The closing. Tell them exactly what you want them to do. Don't beat around the bush. For example, in my closing I say, "What I want you to do now is grab your wallet or purse and pull out your credit card right now. I want you to click on the order link and input your credit card information."

Sales letter component #12: Have a P.S.

Sales letter component #13: Order links. Look at your "Click to Order Now" links. How many do you have? You should have 12-15 order links on your page. You don't have to use the "Click to Order Now" buttons every time. You can highlight text and have it be a blue hyperlink that goes to the order form.

Sales letter component #14: Highlight words that you want to stress such as "Order Now" and "Go to the Order Form".
