With 300 miles of shoreline, an area called - land between the lakes - is a peninsula that exists between Lake Barkley and Lake Kentucky. It was a recreational area, which now a days is World Biosphere Reserve. A planetarium is also located here.

Kentucky's most attractive and awaited Derby Race is held at Churchill Downs Race Track every year. Thousands watch it live and millions on TV. It has become part of the season of sports these days.

Balloon rides and steamboats exploring the River Ohio and of course riverbank picnics are other events that take place here.

A hospitable welcome awaits you at Kenlake State Resort Park. It provides excellent picnic and educational opportunities. You can play sports or enjoy river boating here.

At General Butler State Resort Park, view outstanding river scenery in its humble atmosphere.

Undisturbed wildlife and perched on a 28,000 acre lake Dale Hollow State Resort Park offers all amenities.

Different seasons have different charm at Natural Bridge State Resort Park. With its rugged arches and cliffs, its scenery is enjoyed from the park's sky lift.

Kentucky Horse Park is the world's largest horse museum. A Man O War memorial welcomes its visitors at the entrance. All visitors are shown a horses film - Thou Shalt Fly Without Wings.

To see the park well, take a 30 minute ride on a covered wagon pulled by gentle draft horses.

A mountain resort, Jenny Wiley State Resort Park is adjacent to 1,100 acre Dewey Lake. During summers you hear Broadway musicals in the Jenny Wiley theater.

The source of water to both Barkley and Kentucky Lake complex area is a flowing canal. It has vast shoreline and a reputation of the best fishing lakes of US.

Cumberland River below Wolf Creek Dam enjoys reputation of stocking heaviest trout as it receives around 100,000 trout annually.

10,000 acres of Barren River Lake has lots of fishing pleasure with many other facilities available.

Grouse, deer and turkey are a great hunt at Daniel Boone National Forest, as most of forest land is owned by private parties you require permission to enter. You can do hunting with weapons belonging to a previous era and no modern weapons are allowed.

Peabody Wildlife Management Area is sprawled in 60,000 acres in Ohio and Muhlenberg Counties and is famous for hunting deer, quail, deer and turkey. It provides plenty of common amenities.

With 20,305 acres of wilderness, Cumberland Gap National Historical Park is the largest historical park in the USA and 80% of the park area lacks roads, thus making it a hikers paradise.

It has many wild birds, animals and due to an altitude change many kinds of plants thrive here.

Located some miles west of Ashland near Olive Hill, Carter Caves State Resort Park has many caves for exploring. Lots of streams flow in this park's gorges lined with yews and hemlock. Hiking trails can also be found with views of scenic beauty.

Often called the Niagara of the South, Cumberland Falls State Resort Park has a wide (125ft) curtain of water that falls 60 foot into a gorge. On a clear moon night, these falls create the magic of the moon bow. It is a great place to enjoy the outdoors.
